Finally got my copy of The Orange Box and have been able to experience the amazing Portal (at work, since my work PC could beat up my home PC), and it’s pretty fantastic. The mind bending puzzle design is great on its own, but it’s really your artificial intelligence nemesis GLaDOS and her clever dialogue, courtesy of the dude behind Old Man Murray, that makes it so awesome.
And no, I do not have an emotional attachment to my Weighted Companion Cube. Well, maybe. THE CAKE IS A LIE!
Unfortunately, I’ve only had the time to play it very briefly, as I’ve been swamped with work. I did two reviews this week (Touch Detective 2 1/2 and Mega Man ZX Advent) and have another one coming next week, and it basically takes up my free time. I’m not really complaining, as I sort of like it, but I just think it’s funny–and this was observed by my co-worker–that the huge flood of titles that is making it possible for me to review games in the first place is precisely what’s preventing me from playing all of them.
Anyway, I need to take a break and chillax this weekend or something.
