“I like to wear silly hats.”
Hi, my name is Lark Anderson, and I’m an artist, game designer, and writer. I am very shy, quiet, and reserved, unless we know each other in which case I can be loud, obnoxious, and crazy. Socially awkward? Sometimes. Mildly autistic? Maybe. Sociopathic? Not sure. Sometimes, I think I’m Dexter Morgan, only without the killing part. Other times, I think I’m a male version of Amélie Poulain. What can I say? I’m weird.
I’m an Associate Producer at GameSpot.com. My main job is to make sure that all the fancy reviews, previews, etc. that we write are promoted across the site. The rest of my job involves project managing editorial events, large-scale features, and game launch centers. In my spare time, I write reviews, previews, and the occasional feature. If you’re interested in that sort of thing, I keep a running list of all my work.
I also write short stories, muse over game design ideas, and pursue my own projects–one of which I hope to unveil in 2008 to great success.
I have appeared on CNET TV, Button Mashing, On the Spot, Tournament TV, and various other GameSpot videos. I was the Assistant Editor of Edition 57 of the Brushfire Literary Arts Journal where I had a short story published, have written and designed a game for the 2007 Independent Games Festival Student Showcase, and worked retail at Circuit City for four years–three of which as an Assistant Operations Manager.
I graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor of Arts in Art (Digital Media) and minors in English (Writing) and Computer Science.
Fun facts about Lark
- He is the King of the Larks. No really, there aren’t other male Larks out there. And if there are, he needs to know so they can sword fight Highlander-style.
- He has the worst sense of direction in the world. 100% muscle memory all the time only gets you so far.
- His preferred drink of choice is Captain Morgan and Coke, though he has been known to enjoy the occasional Jaeger shot and Irish Car Bomb.
- He knows Kung-Fu. Really.
- He uses the word “awesome” way too much. This is because he is awesome and the word itself is also awesome.
